Since being pleasantly surprised by the performance of the Vanswe recumbent bike, I’ve been looking more closely at other products made by this company. They make several different weight benches, and one in particular caught my attention – the Vanswe 800-lbs Adjustable Weight Bench.
This weight bench falls somewhere between light adjustable benches and commercial-grade models. I’ll be reviewing the 2021 version, which is equipped with a removable leg hold-down brace and upgraded thickness of the frame as well as improved 2.5" padding.
So if you're ready to learn more about the Vanswe Adjustable Weight Bench, let's get started!

Main Features Of The Vanswe Adjustable Weight Bench
So let’s start with the features. The bench’s design is a unique triangular support structure with 2.75″ x 2″ solid steel main frame and a maximum weight support of 800 lbs (362.8 kg). The heavy-duty steel frame is also powder-coated for added protection and durability.
As the name suggests, the bench is fully adjustable with 3 seat positions (0°, 10°, 20°) and 7 back positions (85°, 60°, 50°, 40°, 20°, 0°, -20°). Considering the incline, flat and decline positions, you are open to explore a vast variety of exercises from sit ups, dumbbell rows, incline presses, military presses, dumbbell flyes, and more.
The back-pad and seat-pad are made of 2.5” thick foam padding, which provides maximum support and comfort. The weight bench is also equipped with transportation wheels for easy portability.
The bench has U-shaped base using a bottom pipe, which provides maximum stability. The 2021 version has been upgraded with a removable leg hold-down brace for added decline support, and this brace can be adjusted between 4 different levels.
The assembled dimensions are 61 x 22.2 x 18.1 inches (154.9 x 56.5 x 46 cm), while the back-pad is 12” wide (30.5 cm) and 32.5” long (82.6 cm). The empty weight is 51 lbs (23.1 kg) and the manufacturer provides a 3-year warranty for frame and 90-day warranty on other parts.
Packaging & Assembly
Most users agree that the assembly of Vanswe 800 lbs adjustable weight bench is fast and easy. The bench comes mostly pre-assembled and the provided instruction manual is actually useful (which is a rarity these days).
Unfortunately, there is no socket wrench in the package and you are going to need one to complete the assembly. As long as you have a socket wrench, it shouldn’t take you more than 30 minutes to assemble.
The Vanswe bench falls in the midrange pricing category. It's not the cheapest option on the market, but it's also not the most expensive. In terms of value for money, this bench scores extra points, especially considering it's close to the quality of commercial-grade benches.
My Experience Using The Vanswe Model
Frame & Adjustability
Thanks to the solid steel main frame and U-shaped base, this bench is very stable and sturdy. The adjustments are made via conveniently located pins with convenient degree changes between each adjustment.
With that being said, the pin for back-pad adjustments is not attached to the bench in any way, meaning it can be lost or misplaced easily. You can solve this by attaching a cord between the pin and the bench so the two will remain connected.
Thanks to the 7 different back-pad positions and 3 seat positions, this is a bench that allows for many different exercises. As I’ve already mentioned, this is not a commercially-graded bench, but neither is it some cheap scrap.
Actually, it’s much closer to commercial equipment considering the materials, which is awesome since the price tag is very reasonable for this kind of quality.
The 2.5” thick foam padding is a great combination of comfort and firmness. The 12” width of the back-pad is large enough even for bulkier folks. I love that the foam roller on the leg brace can be adjusted to 4 different levels.
All in all, this bench is hard to beat in the comfort category.
Height & Weight Limitations
There is very little chance that you'll experience any weight support limitations with this bench; it can handle a whopping 800 pounds of support, so even heavy lifters shouldn't have a problem in this department.
One potential issue that I see has to do with the distance between the seat pad and the back-pad. It’s 2.7 inches (6.8 cm) in the flat and decline positions, which is quite large and might be too wide of a gap for smaller people.
Pros and Cons Of The Vanswe Weight Bench
While nothing is perfect, the Vanswe 800 lbs adjustable weight bench certainly has more pros than cons. Here's a quick breakdown of both the good and bad:
Comparing The Vanswe With Similar Weight Benches
One of the best ways to do your due diligence for selecting the best weight bench for you is to compare it with similar models. There are 3 that are very similar in functionality and design to the Vanswe bench:
Who Can Benefit from the vanswe weight bench?
- 【800 Lbs Weight Capacity】Vanswe weight...
- 【2.5" Soft Foam Padding】2.5" thick foam...
- 【Fully Adjustable...
- 【2022 Upgraded】Added a removable leg...
To put it frankly, almost anyone can benefit from buying this weight bench for a home gym. I’d suggest first checking if the gap between the pads is too wide for you since smaller individuals often find it to be a nuisance. But other than that, there's not much to complain about.
One thing to note is that the manufacturer doesn’t state the maximum user height, but you can guess that based on the dimensions. If you're on the fence about it, feel free to reach out to the manufacturer directly via their customer support to find out if your height is compatible with this model.
If you're more interested in buying a commercial-grade bench, then I’d suggest checking into the Ironmaster Super Bench.
