Vanswe 800 Lbs Adjustable Weight Bench Reviewed

Several weeks ago I have reviewed a recumbent bike made by Vanswe. That particular machine surprised me in a good way. Since then I’ve been looking more closely at other products made by this company. They make several different weight benches and one in particular caught my attention – the Vanswe 800 lbs adjustable weight bench.

This particular weight bench is something between light adjustable benches and commercial-grade ones. I’ll be reviewing the 2019 version, which is equipped with removable leg hold-down brace and upgraded thickness of the tube on back of the seat padding from 1.75mm to 2.0mm.

So let’s start with the features. The bench’s design is a unique triangular support structure with 2.75″ x 2″ solid steel main frame for the maximum weight support of 800 lbs (362.8 kg). The heavy-duty steel frame is also powder-coated.

The bench has U-shaped base, using a bottom pipe, which provides maximum stability.

As the name suggests, the bench is fully adjustable with 3 seat positions ((0°, 10°, 20°) and 7 back positions (85°, 60°, 50°, 40°, 20°, 0°, -20°). Considering the incline, flat and decline positions, you are open to explore the vast variety of exercises from sit ups, dumbbell rows, incline presses, military presses, dumbbell flyes and others.

The back-pad and seat-pad are made of 2.5” thick foam padding, which provides maximum support and comfort.

Vanswe 800 lbs adjustable weight bench is also equipped with transportation wheels for easy portability.

The assembled dimensions are 61 x 22.2 x 18.1 inches (154.9 x 56.5 x 46 cm), while the back-pad has 12” width (30.5 cm) and 32.5” length (82.6 cm). The empty weight is 51 lbs (23.1 kg). The manufacturer provides 3-year warranty for frame and 90-day warranty for other parts.

Vanswe 800 lbs Adjustable Weight Bench

800 lbs Weight Support, Baby!

I’m pleased to say that the assembly of Vanswe 800 lbs adjustable weight bench is pretty easy. The bench comes mostly pre-assembled and the provided instruction manual is actually useful (kind of rarity these days).

Unfortunately, there is no socket wrench in the package and you are going to need one to complete the assembly. If you have it, it shouldn’t take you more than 30 minutes.

Thanks to the solid steel main frame and U-shaped base, the bench is very stable and sturdy. The adjustments are done via conveniently located pins and the degree distances is very good. With that being said, the pin for back-pad adjustments is not attached to the bench in any way, meaning it can be lost.

You can solve this by attaching a cord to it and the bench, so the two will remain connected. Thanks to the 7 different back-pad positions, this is a type of bench where you can perform a lot of exercises.

The 2.5” thick foam padding is a great mix of comfortability and firmness. Also the 12” width of the back-pad is enough even for bulkier folks. One potential issue that I see here is the distance between the seat pad and the back-pad. It’s about 2.7 inches (6.8 cm) in the flat and decline positions, which might be too wide for smaller people.

The height of the support foam rollers is adjustable with 4 different levels, which is pretty comfy and convenient.

As I’ve already mentioned, this is not a commercially-graded bench, but neither is it some cheap scrap. Actually, it’s much closer to commercial equipment considering the materials, which is awesome, because the price tag is very reasonable for this kind of quality.

To put it very simply – yes. However, I’d suggest checking if the gap between the pads isn’t too wide for you. Also, the manufacturer doesn’t state the maximum user height, but you can guess that based on the dimensions.

Alternatively, you can reach out to the manufacturer directly via their customer support. All-in-all, this particular weight bench is definitely worth the asking price.

If you would like to check something of commercial grade, then I’d suggest checking Ironmaster super bench.
