Best Adjustable Weight Benches on the Market

Finding the best adjustable weight bench for your home gym might prove more difficult than one initially thought, right? Are you looking for an adjustable weight bench? Or a flat bench with enough width to fully accommodate your back? Or perhaps you are looking for a bench with several declined positions? To save you time and effort, I’ve scoured the market and with the combination of my own reviews and several verified online reviewers, I’ve put together a list of the 5 best weight benches that are currently available on the market.

What Should You Consider Before Getting One?

There are, of-course, several other factors to consider before purchasing the very best weight bench for you. I’ve outlined them below.

Factors to Consider:

Frame Quality

Possibly the most important factor to check is the construction quality. Logically, most benches are made of steel; however, some steel tubing is thinner and weaker than other. Some benches come with heavy-gauge and reinforced steel frame. This usually goes hand-in-hand with maximum weight support, but that is not always the case.

Weight Support

Naturally, the bench must support your weight. When checking maximum weight support, from my own experience, I’d go at least 25 pounds in advance in regard to maximum weight support. This means when you for example weight 225 pounds, the bench should support at least 250 pounds. Don’t forget to add the weight of dumbbells or other equipment that you might use on the bench.

Size

Size can be tricky. Some manufacturers mention size dimensions only of the already assembled benches, while others will provide unassembled dimensions. Make sure you know the assembled dimensions in flat position to be 100% sure it can fully accommodate you.

Pad Quality

Must seat and pack-pads are cushioned and padded, but some are thicker than others. I found that that the thickness of the pad is neither, advantage nor disadvantage. It simply comes down to your own preferences. Some guys prefer thicker and more comfortable pads, while others prefer thinner and firmer ones.

Adjustability

Most potential buyers want bench adjustability when getting a bench. This is quite logical. If you are about to purchase a weight bench, why not take advantage of the fact that most of them can be adjusted? They are of course usually more expensive than flat benches. If you decide to go for adjustability, be sure to check if it comes with all the desired incline / decline degrees and positions.

Add-ons

Some weight benches also come with add-ons like sit-up bar or foam rollers, while others might come with the entire bench frame. If you want an add-on like this, be sure that is it either attachable to your bench or it comes directly with it.

Price

You may find a bench that is superior in every factor to one you checked before, only to find out that it costs four times its price. Make sure to check your picked bench falls under your budget category.

Warranty

Okay, you’ve picked your bench, but you are not sure about 1-2 factors. Checking warranty is a good way to know how much time you have to return the bench in case you are not satisfied. Careful though, technical warranty is not a return warranty. Be sure to know both. If they are not specified, check that with the manufacturer.
