POWERBLOCK Sport Bench Vs Ironmaster Super Bench: Compared For Home Gyms
1. Adjustability
The PowerBlock Sport Bench has five adjustable positions, including flat to 30, 45, 60 degrees, and military positions. It also has an adjustable seat. We've found that benches with at least 5 positions allow us to do most of the exercises we want to do.
However, the Ironmaster Super Bench comes with 11 adjustable positions, so you can do just about any exercise you can think of. All you have to do is press down on the foot lever and then lift up or down the pad to adjust the position.
2. Comfort
The pads on the Ironmaster are thick and firm, and you can tell that it's high in quality just by looking at it. The 3" thick pad on the Super Bench does a great job keeping users safe and secure, and it's also comfortable on the back.
The contoured seats and pads on the PowerBlock Sport Bench, along with the vinyl padding and internal foam, make the Sport Bench a very comfortable bench. But we didn't sink into the bench, and it wasn't too comfortable.
3. Limitations
There are benches on the market that can't handle the needs of tall lifters, but both of these benches should be able to support their needs. Some shorter lifters may experience some limitations with these benches, however.
The PowerBlock Sport Bench will be much easier to move around your space because it comes with wheels and a handle. However, when it comes to exercises, you will be able to do more with the Ironmaster Super Bench because of the 11 adjustable positions and the available attachments.
4. Weight Capacity
The PowerBlock Sport Bench supports 550lbs, which is respectable and will allow most lifters to lift as heavy as they need. However, the Ironmaster Super Bench supports up to 1,000lbs, so even the biggest lifters should be able to lift heavy weights.
5. Build Quality & Durability
One of the main benefits of choosing the Ironmaster Super Bench is its heavy-duty Heavy-duty 11/12-gauge steel frame. Few benches are this sturdy, and even fewer can hold 1000 pounds. That's why this is our go-to pick for heavy lifting.
The PowerBlock Sport Bench comes with 14 Ga. 2″ x 3″ powered coated steel tubing. The 14 gauge is thinner than the typical 11 gauge tubing used on commercial grade gym benches. This allows the sport bench to be light and mobile, but it isn't quite as durable as benches with 11 gauge tubing.
6. Available Add-Ons
The PowerBlock Sport Bench has an available dip attachment and a chin-up attachment. These are both excellent investments if you want to take your workouts to the next level.
The Ironmaster Super Bench has a Crunch Situp, Dip Bar Handles, Chin Up Bar, Preacher Curl Bar, and Leg Curl and Extension Attachment. You can even buy a cable system attachment, so you aren't limited on what you can do with this bench.
7. Price & Accessibility
The Ironmaster Super Bench is easily available online, both on Amazon and the Ironmaster website. And at just over $350, you get a fantastic weight bench at an unbeatable price.
The PowerBlock Sport Bench is also available on Amazon and the PowerBlock website. It comes in at around $250 with fewer features than the Ironmaster bench.
8. Warranty
