Core Fitness Adjustable Dumbbell Review (Rated & Compared)

When it comes to designing your home gym, one of the best pieces of home gym equipment you can have are dumbbells. Dumbbells are excellent at increasing your physical strength and are ideal for ironing out any muscular imbalances that can occur from barbell work.

However, complete dumbbell sets take up a lot of room, so if you want all the benefits of dumbbells without the clutter, you need the Core Fitness Adjustable Dumbbells.

In this Core Fitness Adjustable Dumbbell review, you’ll discover everything you need to know about buying this popular product.

The Core Fitness Adjustable Dumbbells are incredibly comfortable to use, and you can adjust the weight quickly. I found the wide range of weight options excellent, making the dumbbells suitable for beginners and advanced users. However, I found that the plates rattled slightly during use, which could cause some users concern.

It’s also worth noting that the Core Fitness Adjustable Dumbbell weight set is more expensive than some other options out there, but they’re currently on sale, so it could be worth having a look on the Core Fitness website.

Unique Features Of The Core Fitness Adjustable Dumbbell

The Core Fitness Adjustable Dumbbell Set is a compact way of adding dumbbells to your home gym without taking up too much room. They have a wide weight range that can be easily adjusted with the twist of the hand.

If you’re looking to invest in a cheap adjustable dumbbell set, then Core Fitness has your back. They’re ideal for smaller home gyms or even your apartment, as they can be stored with ease.

Twist Lock Technology

One of the best features of the Core Home Fitness Adjustable Dumbbell pair is that it has an excellent twist locking mechanism that allows you to effortlessly adjust the weights of each dumbbell with the twist of the hand.

Once the dumbbells are placed in the dumbbell cradle, turn the handle to the desired weight and lift the dumbbell ready for use; it’s that simple.

Contoured, Textured & Soft Grip Handle

The Core Fitness Adjustable Dumbbells come with a contoured and textured handle that fits perfectly in your hands, making them highly comfortable to use.

Core Fitness has developed a soft grip handle that will allow you to work your muscles rather than ripping your hands to pieces as some other dumbbell sets do.

This is great for beginners, as your hands won’t have adapted to lifting heavy weights just yet.

Compact Design

The Core Fitness Adjustable Dumbbells turn ten dumbbells into one slick-looking adjustable dumbbell set that takes up barely any room at all.

If you’re conscious about space in your home gym, then Core Fitness has done a great job designing a compact dumbbell set suitable for most home or garage gym spaces.

Aluminum Weight Cradles

The aluminum weight cradle is one of the most essential parts of the Core Fitness adjustable dumbbell system. Without it, you wouldn’t be able to adjust the dumbbells, as the weights are required to be placed back into the cradle before any adjustments can be made.

The cradles are lightweight and have a sleek design that will look brilliant in your home gym.

2-Year Parts Warranty

Having a warranty with your adjustable dumbbells is a must-have. If your dumbbells break or need a part replacing, then Core Fitness covers you with a 2-year parts warranty.

From what I’ve researched, they’re pretty good at sending out replacement parts if they’re ever needed from a customer. However, so long as you treat the Core Fitness Dumbbell set correctly, it’ll be unlikely you’ll need to use the warranty.

In this Core Fitness Adjustable Dumbbell set review, I looked at numerous factors. The first was the assembly and maintenance of the Core Home Fitness Dumbbells.

When it comes to the assembly, the dumbbells are incredibly simple to put together, and the Core Fitness Adjustable Dumbbell weight set comes with an easy-to-follow instruction guide that details the steps you need to take.

Once the Core Fitness Adjustable Dumbbells are assembled, changing the weight is even easier than you could imagine. All you need to ensure is that the Core Home Fitness Adjustable Dumbbell stand is on the floor, then place the dumbbells on the stand and twist your hand until the desired weight is selected. It’s one of the most straightforward adjustable dumbbell sets I’ve had the pleasure of using.

The maintenance of the Core Fitness Adjustable Dumbbells is relatively simple. Like all fitness equipment, you should clean the dumbbells with a damp cloth after use to ensure no dirt clogs the weight changing mechanism. It’s also recommended to inspect your equipment before use; this is more for safety reasons.

I'm a big fan of the 2-year parts warranty that comes with your Core Fitness Adjustable Dumbbell set. It not only gives you peace of mind, but it also ensures that you can order Core Fitness Adjustable Dumbbell replacement parts if you need them while inside your warranty.

Next, for the Core Fitness Adjustable Dumbbell review, I looked at how comfortable the equipment is to use.

I can honestly say from the minute you pick the dumbbells up; they feel incredibly comfortable.

This is mainly due to the contoured and textured grip with the anti-slip coating; it makes holding the Core Fitness Adjustable Dumbbells a dream to use, and I was super impressed.

The only problem I had was that the dumbbells rattled a little while being used. This isn’t a deal-breaker but could leave you feeling a little uncertain about their stability. However, I’ve not found any reason to suggest that the Core Fitness Adjustable Dumbbells are dangerous, and for me, they were stable and felt robust.

Plus, compared to other competitors, the adjustment time was rapid. I was shocked by how easy it is to adjust the weight on these dumbbells.

Lastly, I’d like to point out that the Core Fitness Adjustable Dumbbells have one of the best weight ranges I’ve come across, and they move up in sensible increments. With a range of 5-50lbs and ten different weight settings per dumbbell, you’ll quickly find a weight that’s suitable for you. I found that 5lb increments were ideal and suitable for anyone from beginner to advanced users.

Overall, from this Core Home Fitness Dumbbell review, I found that they would be an excellent addition to any home gym, particularly smaller gyms with less space. While they might be slightly more expensive than some competitors, but they’re worth every dollar and will be a brilliant addition to your home gym.

Comparisons With Core Fitness Adjustable Dumbbell Alternatives

From comparing Core Fitness vs Bowflex dumbbells, I found that both systems are excellent looking pieces of home gym equipment that won’t take up much room at all, plus their sleek design makes them look incredible.

One significant difference I’ve noticed is that the Bowflex dumbbells have 15 weight settings (2.5lb increments); this is better than Core Fitness’s offering, which is only ten weight settings.

When you look at the Core Fitness Adjustable Dumbbells vs Bowflex, I found that the Core Fitness dumbbells look less in your face. Sure, some might think their design is simple compared to Bowflex, but that’s the beauty of them, and they’ll fit into your home gym without causing a scene.

It’s also worth noting that the grips on the Core Fitness dumbbells are much more comfortable than Bowflex SelectTech.

Core Fitness Vs Powerblock

When you first look at the Core Fitness Dumbbells vs Powerblock, you’ll see that the Powerblock dumbbells looks incredibly clumpy compared to the Core Fitness Adjustable Dumbbells. In my opinion, the Powerblocks aesthetics aren’t great, but I’ll admit that it has some pretty cool features.

The Core Fitness Adjustable Dumbbells provide you with 10 weights to choose from, whereas the Powerblock has 16 weight options. This is a staggering amount, plus you can expand each dumbbell to up to 90lbs, which is incredible. Unfortunately, Core Fitness doesn’t provide you with this option.

However, when it comes to adjusting the weights, the Powerblock is more complicated, especially when you compare it to the simple twisting motion that the Core Fitness Adjustable Dumbbells require to adjust the weight.

Overall, if you want something sleek and compact, then Core Fitness will be the better choice. But, if you need to lift up to 90lbs per dumbbell, you should check out Powerblock.

There’s no more prominent name in the fitness industry than Weider, and when you compare the adjustable dumbbells that Core Fitness offers to the Weider dumbbells, it's a tight comparison.

To start with, both dumbbells go up to 50lbs, which is excellent. However, the Weider dumbbells move up in 10lb increments, which may be too large for some people, particularly beginners. On the other hand, the Core Fitness Adjustable Dumbbells go up in 5lb increments, which is perfect for the average user.

When it comes to aesthetics, both dumbbell sets look brilliant, but I feel the Weider Select-A-Weight dumbbells win this one. They have a great looking all-black design that will look fantastic in any home gym and will not stand out.

One of my main gripes with the Weider dumbbells is that the storage tray is relatively poor compared to the Core Fitness dumbbell cradle. While this isn’t a significant issue, it’s worth considering.

Overall, if you’re a beginner, the Core Fitness Adjustable Dumbbells are perfect for you as the Weider dumbbells jump up in large weight increments, which isn’t ideal. But, if you want to use dumbbells with a famous name, then Weider Select-A-Weight dumbbells are brilliant.
