Body Solid Bi-Angular Home Gym Review (G10B + G10B-LP)

It's hard for most people to make it to the gym 5 or so times a week. That's why having a home gym is an excellent way to stay in shape and keep up with your fitness if you're short on time. Having an easily accessible home gym will do wonders to boost your overall fitness levels and build muscle.

If you're unsure where to start, Body Solid Bi-Angular Home Gyms are a great starting point. Having the right home gym equipment can make or break the quality of your workouts, and we have been impressed by Body Solid.

The Body Solid G10B and the Body Solid G10B-LP are both great additions to any home gym. Below, in this Body Solid G10B and Body Solid G10B-LP review, we will find out why.

The Body Solid G10B and G10B-LP are excellent choices for both beginners and advanced lifters alike.

Quality-wise, these Body Solid machines are two of the best all-in-one resistance trainers. They are excellent pieces of home gym equipment that are commercial grade with several standout features like rugged construction and the ability to work your entire body.

We love the dual 210-pound weight stacks with the G10B, with an upgrade option to add an extra 50-pound per stack.

The Good

  • Each handle has its own weight stack
  • You can upgrade the weight stacks
  • Included lat bar, wrist straps, and leg straps
  • Lumbar support
  • Lifetime warranty

The Bad

  • Large footprint
  • No compound leg exercises
  • Difficult Assembly

Unique Features Of The Body Solid Bi-Angular Home Gyms

Both Body Solid Bi-Angular home gyms, the Body Solid G10B and the Body Solid G10B-LP  have unique features that make them an excellent product to invest in. Things like the multi-directional resistance system, the ab crunch station, and the weight stack make them a wonderful addition to any home gym.

Multi-Directional Resistance System

The advanced alloy weight stack enhances the multi-directional resistance system that can increase muscle interaction by 25%. The advanced alloy weight stack plates are machine drilled to exact specifications. They also employ state-of-the-art nylon bushings for super smooth and quiet operation. This selectorized machine has many advantages compared to a plate-loaded machine. It makes it much easier to switch between different weights during training.

Leg Developer

If you want to build muscular legs and strengthen your knee joints, the leg developer on these Body Solid machines will do just the trick.

The SmoothGlide Bearing System on the leg developer, along with self-aligning leg cuffs, will guide you through devastating leg presses and leg extensions.

The leg developer also comes with an independent weight stack, so more than one person can work out at a time.

Seated Row/Low Pulley Station

If you want a robust and well-developed back, seated rows build depth in the middle back and train the hard to get lower lats. In addition, the low pulley swivels to provide resistance for cable curls, upright rows, shrugs, leg abduction, leg adduction, and more. The good thing about this machine is the low pulley allows for various low row alternatives.

Ab Crunch/Mid Pulley Station

Everyone wants abs. You can develop awesome abs and terrific triceps quickly at the ab crunch/mid pulley station. This station is engineered for a smooth, comfortable, full range of motion crunching movements.

Lat Pulldown/High Pulley Station

At the lat pulldown/high pulley station, you can perform crisp lat pulldowns, triceps press downs, cable crossovers, and many more high pulley exercises.

The adjustable hold-down pads will stabilize your body so you can lift more than your body weight.

The high pulley station on this machine is perfect for various lat pulldown alternatives and tricep extension variations.

Perfect Pec Station

The chest and pec area are often overlooked while working out. However, these Body Solid home gym machines are equipped with swivel arms designed for unilateral and bilateral movements. This gets you the maximum stretch for deep muscle toning and incredible upper body development.

Leg Press Attachment Options

The optional leg press attachments eliminate ankle stress and provide consistent resistance with a full range of motion. The pivoting press plate rotates forward and downward to target your thighs, hamstrings, and glutes.

And for the big guys, the extra-large, extra wide, non-slip rubber-covered press plate is just for you. Side stability handles lock you in place, and commercial grade, precision engineered pillow block bearings provide smooth movement and tighter tolerances.

Weight Stack Upgrade Options

The amount of weight that can be loaded on the G10B is really impressive. It comes with two 210-pound stacks in the box, but if you'd like more weight, there's an upgrade option available to add an extra 50-pounds per stack.

We were thoroughly impressed by the Body Solid G10B. Even though we are experienced lifters, the Body Solid G10 gave us a solid workout.

Assembly is a little more complex than other home gyms we've used, so be sure to consult the owner's manual and get a friend to help you out. Maintenance is pretty straightforward, very similar to other home gym machines.

Be sure to keep an eye on everything for wear and tear, and keep pulleys and the like well lubricated. We had fun working out on this machine. Here are a few examples of the movements you can do:

Upper Body Exercises

  • Chest Press
  • Chest Mid-Row
  • Back Hyperextension
  • Incline Press
  • Lat Pulldown
  • Triceps Pressdown
  • Bicep Curls
  • Upright Row

The Body Solid G10B-LP has everything the G10B has, plus the leg developer station. For us, the leg developer system is necessary because we need to do compound leg workouts.

The extra station makes it take up a little more space in your house or garage, so keep that in mind. And because of the leg developer station, assembly takes a little longer, and you should definitely consult the owner's manual while you're putting it together.

Similar to the G10B, as long as you do regular inspections of the machine and keep everything well lubricated, your machine should last a long time. But if you have any issues, it does come with a lifetime warranty.

The exercises available on the G10B-LP are the same as the above model but also include the following:

Lower Body Exercises

  • Leg Adduction
  • Leg Abduction
  • Leg Extension

Leg Press Attachment - Is It Worth It?

To us, the leg press attachment is absolutely worth it. We love working out our lower body, so the leg press attachment is a must so we can do compound movements for the lower body.

The leg press attachment is available on bodysolid.com for just over $1,000. We also opted to go with the 50lb weight stack add-ons that you can get on Amazon to make the workouts even more challenging.
