Dporticus power tower has recently caught my attention due to bunch of positive reviews online. To be perfectly honest, I’ve never heard of that brand before, so I did a little bit of research.
As it turns out they make not only fitness equipment gear, but pretty much everything. From garden tables to portable ladders to steam cleaners to strollers to, guess what, weight benches and power towers. So let’s take a look at that particular tower.
Dporticus Power Tower Reviewed
61 - 78.7 inches
Max User Weight
The frame of the tower is made of solid steel and the maximum support weight is set to 330 lbs (149.7 kg). The power tower comes with a dip station and the pull-up bar height can be adjusted from 61 to 78.7 inches (154.9 to 199.9 cm). Besides parallel and horizontal dip bars, the tower comes with standard pull-up / chin-up bar, with angled and horizontal grips.
The cushioned back-pad and armrests make sure that your comfort is at high level while doing exercises such as knee raises.
The assembled dimensions are 25(L) x 38.5(W) x 61-78.7(H) inches (63.5 x 97.8 x 154.9-199.9 cm).
The weight of the power tower is 55 lbs (24.9 kg).
Shaky or Not?
The Dporticus power tower is shipped in one box, where everything is tightly secured. The assembly itself is quite easy, although the instruction manual is not very clear. One thing to note: Do NOT tighten the bolts before you are satisfied with the position of all the parts. Then proceed with the tightening. This applies specially to dip station. You’ll save quite some time this way.
The frame itself and general sturdiness is actually very good. One might think that considered it’s not a commercial-grade power tower you can’t expect sturdiness, but that would be a mistake.
The frame and mainly the dip station is of very good quality and quite sturdy. I have no doubt that it will support the mentioned maximum. The armrests and backrest are cushioned and of good quality as well.
The height is adjustable, although while 78.7-inch maximum height isn’t bad, it’s a bit lower than most competitors. The pull-up bar is pretty standard and thanks to the horizontal and angled grips you can do a lot of exercises.
The base connectors can be used for push-ups, as their position is pretty good. However, Dporticus could have also added a sit-up bar at the base as well.
Pros and Cons
As with every home gym equipment, even Dporticus power tower has pros, but some cons as well.
- Power tower weight capacity: 330lbs,...
- Single parallel bars, chin-up, arms support,...
- Padded Back and Arm Cushions make you workout...
- Easy to assemble, please don't tighten any of...
Now the big question. Should you go for Dporticus power tower? My recommendation is that as long as you do not mind the maximum height of 78.7 and somewhat more complex assembly with hieroglyphic instructions, then yes, this is definitely one of the best home gym power towers currently on the market.
