As with every exercise machine, nothing is going to be perfect for everyone. However, there are plenty of reasons why one would want to add the 7.0 AE into their fitness arsenal. So, let's go in-depth and talk about this machine and every aspect you may want to know about!

A lot of people want to know about the Horizon 7.0 AE Elliptical assembly. After all, struggling with putting a machine together isn't a very motivating way to start things off! We appreciate the detailed, easy-to-follow instructions that come with the elliptical, indicating which hardware is required for each step.

All necessary tools are also included, so there's no need to purchase anything separately. If you have someone to help you, expect everything to be ready in under an hour!

Once fully assembled, you’ll notice that it has a relatively robust footprint. This is due to the excellent build quality, longer stride length, heavy flywheel, and overall level of comfort. It’s capable of supporting up to 325 pounds, which is also heavier than the standard elliptical.

Something that will instantly win you over is the comfort and smoothness the 7.0 AE Elliptical offers.

As soon as you step on it, you'll notice the excellent build quality and sturdiness of the frame.

Moreover, the ergonomics will make working out as easy on your joints as possible, rather than forcing your body into uncomfortable or unnatural angles. Stride length has a huge impact on your comfort level, and with a 20" stride length, it's optimal for the vast majority of users.

With a 23-pound flywheel, you can count on consistent smoothness every time you step onto the elliptical machine! No matter how you set the 20 different resistance or incline levels, that smooth motion stays the same, so there's no bumpiness on your workout.

The console is beautiful and incredibly user-friendly. The full-color screen is large enough to navigate easily. However, there are some bigger ones on the more premium models from Horizon. From here, you can engage the Bluetooth speakers, connect to the device/app of your choice, select among various exercise programs, and more.

As it’s compatible with both Apple and Android, this covers the vast majority of devices out there. The machine tracks calories burned, distance, laps, and more. You can even measure and track your heart rate with the grip pulse located on the front handles.

Given the modern technology, excellent Bluetooth speakers, ample resistance levels, and powered incline, along with a robust frame, this is an incredible deal. While technically a budget model in regard to its low price, it's a fantastic option for almost anyone – unless you're really tight on space.

Otherwise, it's great for beginners and advanced athletes alike. The lifetime frame warranty, 3-year parts, and 1-year labor, is quite good, too. We'd consider this better than average, which further makes it a hot buy.

Comparing Horizon 7.0 AE with Similar Elliptical Brands

So, how does the Horizon 7.0 AE hold up against similar brands? Are Horizon fitness ellipticals any good? Let’s take a look at some of the most popular alternatives so you can make the best decision.

Horizon 7.0 AE Vs Sole E25

Sole Fitness E25 Elliptical Machine

  • Power incline feature adds resistance while...
  • Vibrant 6.25-inch blue LCD display tracks...
  • Integrated sound system; oversized,...

The Sole E25 does have a solid benefit for those who are very tight on space, as it does have a significantly smaller footprint than the Horizon 7.0 AE. However, the 7.0 AE has much more modern technology, with a full-color screen and improved speakers.

The Sole and the Horizon both have the same number of resistance levels, powered incline, and the same weight capacity. The Sole is listed for a few hundred dollars more, though, so for the price, the Horizon still can't be beaten.

Contrary to the Sole, the Schwinn Fitness 430 is actually larger than the Horizon 7.0 AE. However, it has a slightly lower weight capacity, at 300 pounds, so this doesn't seem to be of much benefit.

While they both have the same number of resistance levels, the Schwinn 430 only has a manually-adjustable incline rather than the motorized incline that Horizon has on their 7.0 AE. Moreover, the build quality isn't quite as sturdy as Horizon's.

So while you are saving some money with the Schwinn Fitness 430, you're also sacrificing some important features.

So, is Horizon Fitness a good brand? Absolutely. In fact, it's one of the most reliable, feature-packed brands for the price!
