Unique Features of the Carol Exercise Bike
Various Workout Modes
With 7 different workout modes to select from, allowing you to choose the best ones for you based on your goals, the time you have available to work out, and your personal preferences.
Modes included are: Intense, Energizer, Fat Burn 30, Fat Burn 60, Constant Power, Continuous Ramp Up, and Free Ride. Free Ride is for you to use like a "normal” bike, placing the resistance and other settings to your liking.
Supreme Build Quality
With a stainless-steel frame and heavy (almost 30-pound) flywheel, you can expect the utmost stability and durability with the Carol Bike. It even meets commercial-grade exercise bike standards.
While you probably won’t be partaking in very long sessions, the ergonomically-shaped saddle will ensure your comfort from beginning to end. The poly-V belt drive with freewheel clutch is always smooth and reliable, as well. It may be compact, but it’s capable of supporting almost 300 pounds, so it's nice and tough.
Plan on spending less than 30 minutes on assembling your new exercise bike. You don’t have to be DIY-experienced or have someone else help you either – it’s that easy. You can roll it anywhere you need to after you’re finished putting it together.
Choose between your favorite tennis shoes or SPD cleats, thanks to the pedals, which come with both dual-sided toe cages and SPD click pedals.
This will help ensure you are cycling in the most natural way possible for your personal preferences and what you’re already used to while keeping your feet secure and free from slippage. Of course, you can also switch them out for your own pedals, if you prefer.
If you’re already familiar with smartphones or tablets, you'll find the touchscreen incorporated into the Carol intuitive and user-friendly. The software it comes with is designed to improve your cardio health and body composition while ensuring your safety.
Displaying metrics, dashboards, trends, and leader boards, you’ll be able to compete with others and yourself. Updates happen often and automatically through the cloud, so you’ll never get bored with new features continuously integrated.
The full-color touchscreen display is simple to use for most of us who are already familiar with smart devices.
The screen will change colors to alert you for when you need to speed up, and you can even set intriguing visuals to entertain you as you pedal!
If you’d like to connect headphones, heart rate monitors, or even another smart device, you can do so with the bike’s Bluetooth connectivity options. We found it to be reliable and doesn't drop off or disconnect, so you receive as accurate results as possible.
However, if you don’t want to measure heart rate with an external monitor, you also have built-in heart rate monitors in the handlebars.
When it comes to automatic exercise machines (and any, really), safety is always a reasonable question. The built-in safety algorithm on the Carol bike tracks your pulse and recovery time, automatically stopping a ride if any abnormalities are noted.

The issue which prevents many of us from reaching our fitness goals is not using our machines effectively, our not using them often enough. The Carol takes care of both of those issues in one fell swoop, but how do they do it? By using your biometric data gathered from your first few cycling sessions and finding your baseline fitness.
Why is this important?
Because it will then provide you with the perfect level of resistance for you to see maximum results – whatever that is that you’re looking to achieve. The Carol AI bike also includes 7 different workout modes, with a Free Ride mode, which lets you adjust the length of the workout and difficulty, all manually like a regular exercise bike.
You can select which is best for your goals and switch them up to always keep your body guessing and dodge acclimation. With the other programs, you never have to adjust the resistance as the program of your choice will already take care of it on its own.
When it comes to speed – like when you’re doing sprint programs – the screen will turn red for a few seconds to alert you that you need to begin pedaling as fast as possible. Once the allotted time for your sprinting is up, resistance will increase automatically to slow you down. Needless to say, it’s intense and going to melt the fat away and boost your overall fitness just as quickly.
To keep you motivated, you can choose to listen to built-in music options and a visualization track, which is definitely a crowd-pleaser with fun (and funny at times) visuals. To be honest, the music options are pretty limited, so if you're into a bit more obscure music, you may want to bring your own tunes along for the ride.
Either plug in your headphones or sync through Bluetooth – both are pretty convenient! The touchscreen is intuitive, especially if you already use smart devices in your daily life. It’s basically like having a big tablet right there for you to watch your stats, compete with others, and more.
The built-in CAR.O.L app monitors your performance through various specs, ensuring you’re meeting the requirements needed to make the most of your short time on the bike. Remember, it’s not going to do the pedaling for you! Trust us: you’ll find that you improve in just a week in every way!
While it does have a smaller saddle, the bike overall is actually quite comfortable. The seat is curved in an ergonomic way that it works with your body instead of against it. Although, most seats aren't going to be very uncomfortable if you're only sitting on them for 8 or so minutes!
The height is adjustable on both the seat and handlebars to ensure you're sitting in a healthy posture, as well.
For such intense cycling, you need your feet to stay in one place. With both a dual-sided toe cage and SPD click pedals, that's a given. Noise isn't even a question due to the near-silent, poly-V belt drive with a freewheel clutch. The flywheel keeps things smooth and consistent, free of stuttering, lagging, bumps, and so on.
If you’re worried about assembly, don’t. It shouldn’t take you any more than an hour to put together, and thanks to the step-by-step instructions, even the most DIY-inept will find it easy.
Finally, there are a couple of possible downsides here. One is the price. It's not exactly the cheapest out there (nor is it the most expensive). Aside from that, there are people who do enjoy getting ready for a longer ride. If that's your case, then we recommend utilizing the Free Ride mode, where you can set your own pace and difficulty level.
All in all, the Carol Bike is the ideal solution for those who tight on time or need an extra “push” in the right direction to reach their goals!
Pros & Cons
Comparisons with Other Exercise Bike Brands
Carol vs. Peloton
Peloton will involve longer workouts and is based around a class setting. Calories burned won’t be all that different, though you’ll spend longer on the Peloton getting there. The Peloton’s display is a bit more high-quality and complex, along with the workout feedback.
Carol vs. Nordictrack
The NordicTrack is cheaper than the Carol, though it doesn’t have the automatic features which involve your biometrics to create the best workouts for you. It’s also a bit bulkier and weighs more. However, the display is a bit more complex than the Carol.
The Nordictrack is probably a bit more well-suited for the casual “exerciser” who wants to stay active or lose weight, while the Carol is made for those who love more extreme workouts or want serious results (and quick!).
The Carol Bike: Who It’s For & Is It Worth It?
The Carol Exercise Bike is ideal for those who simply don’t have the time to spend 30-45 minutes to workout, as well as those who enjoy incredibly intense workouts.
Oh, and if you're a serious bike enthusiast or a tech person, you'll love this ingenious design.
If you're wondering, "why are air bikes so expensive?" it's because they are so effective and built with the highest quality materials out there. You're getting to get years of use out of them without worrying about quality diminishing.
Assembly & Getting Started
As mentioned a few times already, assembly of the Carol bike is very straightforward. Check out the video below, which will take you step-by-step through the process, or continue reading below:
- 1Take your bike out of the box.
- 2Connect the front and back floor stabilizers with the included screws and tools. This process is definitely easier with 2 people, with one person lifting the bike frame while the other slides the stabilizers into the correct places.
- 3Slide the seat post into the frame and attach the seat.
- 4Connect the console cables to the frame, following it up by sliding the console into the bike frame neck.
- 5Screw in the console to the bike frame neck with the bolts and tools which come included.
- 6Attach the pedals to the crank arms with the wrench provided.
If you’re not interested in taking on the challenge, you can also schedule a technician to come to your house and do it for you (do so through their official site).
