Recently I’ve switched my attention on recumbent bikes, because of several reasons. One reason is that so far I’ve done only a few reviews of such bike types. Now we will take a closer look at 3G Cardio Elite RB recumbent bike, which is a light-commercial piece of equipment.
Light-commercial bike is something between a home-gym bike and full-commercial bike, designed for public gyms and long daily use.
The manufacturer states that this particular bike is designed for 6-hours a day use. So, without further ado, let’s jump right into the features.
Features of 3G Cardio Elite RB
The bike is compact in design and also very ergonomic thanks to the narrow Q-factor distance between the pedals. The construction is made of high quality materials, which is reflected on the provided warranty, which is lifetime for frame and 7 years for parts. Elite RB bike uses magnetic resistance system with 16 levels.
Seat pad is adjustable along with back-pad, allowing users from 5’ to 6’4 to use the bike comfortably. It has 25 forward-backward positions, 5 seat-tilt positions and reclining mesh seat back. Handles attached to the seat provide remote control for the bike and also include pulse sensor to monitor heart rate.
The provided LCD display offers simple interface with basic stats like time, speed, distance, calories burned and heart rate and you also get 12 built-in programs for various workouts.
The assembled dimensions are 49″ L x 27″ W x 43″ H (124.5 x 68.6 x 109 cm), max supported weight is 350 lbs (158.8 kg) and the empty bike weight is 115 lbs (52.2 kg).
Firstly, I would like to applause 3G Cardio for their brilliant idea on how to pack assembly accessories with instructions. Screws, washers and tools are individually packed on cards, which have labelled arrows, pointing to where they belong. That’s a very simple and effective method. Assembly itself is also quite easy with the provided instructions, however, this is a heavy unit, so if you are not sure you are strong enough to temporarily lift individual parts, I’d suggest having someone to help you out.
Recumbent is All About Comfort, Right?
After you have it assembled, you are going to realize that the bike is indeed, heavy duty. It uses sturdy and ergonomic construction, with comfortable seat and back-pad. The seat has 3-way multi-position adjustments, 25 forward-n-backward positions, 5 seat-tilt positions and multi-position reclining mesh seat back. Most verified users agree that the seat is indeed, comfortable even for the long runs. It doesn’t cause any muscle pain or sore bottom. Something we all look forward to, right?
The 16 levels of magnetic resistance are more than enough for basically every user, from a total newbie to Peter Sagan. The bike is also very quiet, so you can watch TV comfortable while exercising.
The including handles are comfortable if you need to rest your arms and also come with remote control of the display, so you won’t have to bent all the time. They are also equipped with hand pulse system, so you can also monitor heart rate.
LCD monitor is large enough and displays all the stats at the same time, no need to keep switching the display. This is only a standard with commercial and light-commercial bikes. You won’t find (or maybe very rarely) this kind of display on non-commercial bikes. While the programs and the stats are great, several users reported that it might be more user-friendly. This might be a problem especially for older people.
The pedals seem of high quality as well; they are heavy and come with safety straps.
The warranty is also great and according to the online reviews, customer service by 3G Cardio is very good and they stay behind their warranty as well. I wish all the manufacturers would stay behind their products like this.
Pros and Cons of 3G Cardio Elite RB Recumbent Bike
While 3G Cardio Elite RB Recumbent Bike might seem great, nothing is perfect, right?
