So far I’ve reviewed only one AirBike by Assault Fitness, so I’ve decided to take a closer look at another one, precisely XTERRA Fitness AIR650 AirBike Pro.
Air bikes are getting on popularity every year, as the trend seem to suggest. These bikes differ quite a lot from standard or recumbent stationary bikes. It seems like quite a few people prefer Air bikes over classic ones. But this is not a comparison guide, but rather a dedicated review, so let’s find out if AIR650 by XTERRA is worth the asking price.

The seat can be adjusted vertically and horizontally and is designed to provide maximum comfort and support. The pedals are large and anti-skid with dual-sided molded pegs. The bike also comes with transportation wheels for easy transport.
The maximum weight support is 350 lbs (158.7 kg), the assembled dimensions are L x W x H: 48” x 28″ x 54. 5″ (121.9 x 71.2 x 138.4 cm) and the assembled weight 115 lbs (52.2 kg).
That should cover the basis of the AIR650’s features.
You Don’t Need a Fan When You've Got an AirBike!
Considering the weight of the bike, one would say that assembly will be tough. Actually, with XTERRA AIR650 it’s quite the opposite. The assembly is pretty straightforward and easy and shouldn’t take more than 45 minutes.
The bike is one heavy piece of machinery. The heavy-duty solid steel is definitely felt here. The bike is sturdy as hell.
If you had any experience with recumbent and stationary bikes and so far non with air bikes, you’ll be quite surprised about the mechanics. The resistance system is unlimited and, well, it depends on you entirely. The slower you pedal, the lower the resistance and the faster you go, the harder the pressure.
Once you start pedalling, you’ll notice air blowing to your face, which is basically a free cooling system, hehe. However, there is one downside here – the noise. The air blowing to your face will generated quite a noise, so watching TV heavy-pedalling this bike doesn’t go hand-in-hand.
The seat can be adjusted vertically and horizontally and is indeed, quite comfortable. The complete adjustability is especially useful if two or more people are going to use the bike, as anyone can adjust it according to their preferences.
The handlebars are comfortable on grip and thanks to their unique U-shaped design you have a number of positions to place your hands on.
The pedals are a bit over-sized with low profile, otherwise pretty standard. Additionally, there are knurled foot pegs included that can be used to rest your feet. Unfortunately, the bike doesn’t have a bottle holder, so you’ll have to place it next to the bike.
