Saves Floor Space
Power racks aren’t small, and traditionally they take up a hell of a lot of space. Having a wall-mounted rack that folds away will save you plenty of floor space while providing you with an excellent way to work out.
Using a wall-mounted power rack will allow you to fold away garage gym equipment when it’s not being used and will provide you with space to store other equipment on the floor beneath. Overall, saving you space.
Flexible Mounting Options
The best folding home gym equipment, such as folding power racks, will have several mounting options available so that you can adjust the fittings to suit the wall that it’s being attached to.
Secure Protection Of Equipment
Gym equipment is heavy, and it’s imperative to have folding gym equipment that can keep your weights secure while they’re not in use.
You also want to feel safe while using the folding home gym equipment. The last thing you want is to be squatting inside the folding power rack but feeling uneasy at the thought of it being unstable.

1. Rogue RML-3WC
Product Specifications
Overall Dimensions | Length: 13.5”-44" Width: 43”-56” Height: 90” |
Weight | 143-190 lbs |
Maximum Capacity | 1000+ lbs |
Ceiling Height | 95” |
Hole Spacing | 2” |
The Rogue RML-3WC Fold Back Wall Mount Rack is the best simple garage gym folding equipment on the market.
It has a simplistic yet highly robust design that will fill you with confidence while you use the foldable rack. The steel is 3x3” 11 gauge which is nice to see, meaning they’ve built this folding home gym to last.
I’m a massive fan of the powder-coated finish on this folding garage gym rack; there are 11 custom color options to choose from, so it can be made to fit in with the rest of your room.
When it comes to the design, the pull-up bar is placed at the top of the rack, which helps stabilize the frame and allows taller individuals to use all aspects of the frame without restrictions.
The Rogue RML-3WC comes with laser cut holes spaced at 2" centers, so no matter what your proportions, you'll be able to adjust the J-pegs to suit your needs.
This makes squatting and shoulder pressing an Olympic bar much easier when the rack is set at the right height.
Lastly, you can purchase stringers with pre-cut slots to make installing the Rogue RML-3WC easier, particularly when installing it on a wood stud wall.
Note: It’s highly recommended that you purchase the stringers with this rack if you intend on installing the folding garage gym rack on wood, drywall, or stud wall.

2. PRx Performance Profile PRO Squat Rack
Product Specifications
Overall Dimensions | Width: 42” Height: 90” or 96” |
Weight | - |
Maximum Capacity | 1000+ lbs |
Ceiling Height | 108”–114” |
Hole Spacing | 2” |
As far as a folding garage gym rack goes, the PRx Performance Profile PRO stands out from the competition with its unique patented design that once made an appearance on Shark Tank, where a deal was struck with Kevin O’Leary.
If one of the Sharks thought this product was worth investing in, then you know for a fact that it’s worth every dollar, even if it is on the expensive side. Costing around $1300-1500 depending on what size frame you purchase, if you’re on a budget, this probably isn’t the foldable gym rack for you.
The PRx Performance Profile PRO comes with a free PRx fitness app that is entirely free to you and provides you with workouts delivered to your phone daily. You’ll never have to worry about planning your sessions again; simply pick up your phone, open the app, and select your next workout.
When it comes to the design of this home fold-up gym, I've found its construction to be exceptionally well made. Like the Rogue RML-3WC, the PRx Performance Profile PRO uses 3x 3” 11 gauge steel and can withstand over 1000lbs of weight which is more than you’ll ever need.
The PRx Performance Profile, PRO's space-saving design, allows the rack to fold upwards towards the wall and only sticks out by a mere 5” when fully folded away. This is pretty amazing and saves you so much space.
Overall, I’m impressed with the PRx Performance Profile PRO fold up garage gym rack; not only does it look great, but it performs as good as it looks.

3. MONSTER LITE RML-390FULLW
Product Specifications
Overall Dimensions | 45” x 56.25” x 90.4" |
Weight | 330 lbs |
Maximum Capacity | 1000 lbs |
Ceiling Height | 95” |
Hole Spacing | 2” |
The fitness company Rogue has another foldable rack that's made it onto my list of the best simple garage gym folding equipment.
This time, it's the Monster Lite RML-390FULLW, and if you haven't guessed by its name, it's a monster.
However, even though this fold away garage gym rack is rather imposing when it’s fully opened, it becomes compact once it is folded away.
This is excellent news for those of you who’re both space-conscious and require a heavier duty machine that’s capable of dealing with some serious weight.
The rack has an adequate height to it, making it great for anyone over 6ft in height, allowing you to perform pull-ups on the bar without having to worry about your feet hitting the floor.
The Monster Lite RML-390FULLW comes with a set of 30” safety straps, so you no longer have to rely on having a spotter when attempting a new personal best on your squat or bench press.
While I like the addition of the straps, I do feel that the rack could benefit from coming with some additional accessories. After all, it will set you back around $1500, which isn’t cheap.
The Monster Lite RML-390FULLW is an excellent fold-out rack for lifters looking to go heavy while in their home gym, but I feel its price might not suit every buyer.

4. PRx Performance Profile Squat Rack
Product Specifications
Overall Dimensions | 52” x 90” x 39.5” |
Weight | - |
Maximum Capacity | 1000 lbs |
Ceiling Height | 108” |
Hole Spacing | 2” |
The PRx Performance Profile Squat Rack 2x3” is the “younger sibling” of the PRx Performance Pro 3x3”, the main difference being that the steel used is 1 inch smaller in size.
Even though the frame may be more petite, don’t let that fool you; the PRx Performance Profile can still handle up to 1000lbs of weight which is something to be marveled at.
However, I was surprised by how sturdy the foldable rack was. When I first saw the frame, I thought it was relatively weaker than the 3x3” version of the PRx Performance Pro. But, I was pleasantly surprised as it surpassed my expectations.
One major bonus of having a more petite-sized steel frame is that the folding garage gym rack is highly compact when it’s folded away, coming off the wall only 4 inches, which is hardly anything.
When it comes to the price of the PRx Performance Profile, it’s not cheap. Again, PRx has placed a large price tag on the rack, and while it does look great and performs superbly, I feel it might be too expensive for some of you.

5. HulkFit Wall Mounted Power Cage
Product Specifications
Overall Dimensions | 24” x 38” x 87” |
Weight | 112 lbs |
Maximum Capacity | 1000 lbs |
Ceiling Height | 95” |
Hole Spacing | 2” |
Next is the HulkFit Wall Mounted Power Cage. When I first laid my eyes on this foldable home gym rack, I found its simplistic design would look great in any home gym. It’s not too bold and will look brilliant folded away on your gym wall.
The price of the HulkFit Wall Mounted Power Cage is around $900, which may seem high at first, but if you decide to buy additional accessories, you’ll find that they’re priced a lot cheaper and will save you money in the long run. Some of the additional accessories include a Y-Bar dip attachment.
One thing that I’m not overly fond of is that they’ve opted to construct the rack out of 2.5x2.5” 11-gauge steel. While it can still support 1000lbs of weight, I’d feel more secure if they’d have opted to use 2.5x3” steel.
Overall, the HulkFit Wall Mounted Power Cage is an excellent option for your home gym and will provide you with everything you need to perform major lifts like squats, bench press, military press, and more.

6. PRx Performance Fold In Murphy Rack
Product Specifications
Overall Dimensions | 27.5” x 49” x 90” |
Weight | 123 lbs |
Maximum Capacity | 1000 lbs |
Ceiling Height | 108” |
Hole Spacing | 2” |
The PRx Performance Fold In Murphy Rack is the lower end option of the PRx Performance Fold In range.
Straight away, I noticed that the price was only around $500, which is pretty impressive for a foldable home gym rack.
Even though it’s cheaper than the others on the list, it still manages to hold its own. It can withstand up to 1000lbs of weight, which is way more than you’ll need to use in your home gym.
When I used the PRx Performance Fold In Murphy Rack, it remained sturdy and didn’t make too much noise or cause any concern. Plus, it folds away pretty quickly, which makes life easier when you’re tired after a workout.
However, my main problem with this foldable rack is that it uses 14-gauge steel, which is much poorer than the other offerings on this list.
Sure, I understand that they’ve got to make the product using cheaper materials, but I feel they could have used 12-gauge and kept the steel quality a little higher.
Needless to say, for $500, you can’t argue with PRx; they’ve got a tremendous lower-end rack here that will be ideal for many of you looking to add foldable gym equipment to your home gym without spending your life’s savings.

7. Titan Fitness T-3 Series
Product Specifications
Overall Dimensions | 22.5” x 46” x 82.4” |
Weight | 140 lbs |
Maximum Capacity | 1,100 lbs |
Ceiling Height | 90” |
Hole Spacing | 2” |
The Titan Fitness T-3 Series Folding Power Rack is the cheapest option on this entire list. It will only cost you around $450, and it looks brilliant for the price.
Straight away, I noticed that Titan Fitness had used only the best materials to construct their foldable rack; the frame has been built in 11 gauge steel that will pass the test of time and won’t give away or deform under enormous loads.
The Titan Fitness T-3 Series Folding Power Rack is relatively simple in design, but this isn’t bad. It knows what it is, and it does the job perfectly, delivering you a great piece of home gym equipment for an extremely low budget price.
Its design doesn't utilize a wall track like the other systems on this list, and while I think it looks aesthetically better, it makes constructing the equipment harder as you need to ensure all the holes line up perfectly. While it’s not a deal-breaker, it’s worth considering.
Overall the Titan Fitness T-3 Series Folding Power Rack is one of the best folding home gym systems around, and you’ll love every minute of using it.

How To Find The Right Folding Wall Mounted Gym
When it comes to purchasing a folding garage gym rack, you should look out for several things to ensure what you’re buying is quality.
Structural Integrity
Squat racks need to be solid and sturdy, no matter if they fold or not. For this reason, the go-to material should always be steel.
Any other material should be avoided as it won’t have the same structural integrity as steel does and would make your frame sub-standard.
When it comes to steel, you should look at two factors: the steel’s thickness and the upright column’s size.
Gauge
Continuing from before, the thickness of the steel used to construct the folding garage gym rack is extremely important.
In general, steel is measured using “Gauge”; the lower the number, the higher the quality. Most squat racks will use 11-gauge steel, and some may opt to use 12-gauge. However, any less than that and the folding home gym equipment should be avoided.
Anything less thin than the 12-gauge steel just isn’t going to cut it and should be avoided at all costs.
Column Size
One of the main parts of a squat rack is the upright columns, these are what carry the most load, so they need to be up to standard.
The average squat rack uses 2”x2” square steel, but this is sometimes changed to a rectangular 2”x3” shape depending on the design of the squat rack.
I’ve seen some highly high-end squat racks use 3”x3” steel, but this would be overkill for your folding squat rack unless you’re a professional strongman who’ll be lifting 800lbs+.
On this note, it’s essential to select a folding home gym that doesn’t slack on column size.
Space Considerations
When purchasing a home gym folding squat rack, you’ll want to ensure that you have enough space for the rack to unfold and cover the height of the rack itself.
Most fold away garage gym racks stick out around 5” when folded and roughly 21” when unfolded (ready to use).
Sure, a folding squat rack will save you plenty of space, but please be sure to check the dimensions of the product you end up purchasing and ensure it fits in your home gym.
Accessories & Other Features
One of the best things about folding racks is that they often have a selection of useful accessories that come with the machine or can be purchased separately.
All suitable racks should come with a pull-up bar and J hooks, in my opinion. They’re the standard attachment that I’d expect when purchasing a folding home gym.
Other accessories such as Safety arms, dipping station, folding bench, plate storage, and barbells are available.
In some cases, a folding squat rack will come with a few accessories; if they do, then it’s a brilliant bonus for you.
Adjustability
Choosing a rack that allows you to adjust the placement of the J hooks and even the pull-up bar is a massive bonus.
There are plenty of wall-mounted pull up bar models available, but foldable squat racks often come with them.
Having the adjustability to move specific parts, you’ll adjust the rack to accommodate your body proportions.
You’ll also be able to change parts to allow you to perform additional exercises too.
Price & Warranty
When it comes down to price, you want to ensure that the folding garage gym rack is within your budget.
There are some excellent racks out there; some are expensive, while some are a bargain.
However, never sacrifice quality for a lower price; you’ll only end up regretting it in the end.
Checking the folding racks warranty is another crucial factor to consider. The longer the warranty, the better, but it also covers any moving parts the rack might have.
